GLOBE TREKKER WRAPS UP ITS TWELFTH SERIES AND MAKES ROOM FOR NUMBER THIRTEEN

 

Globe Trekker logoPilot Productions, the award winning UK based producer of travel and adventure programming will unveil the twelfth series of Globe Trekker at this year’s MIPTV, it was announced today by Ian Cross, Managing Director.

Produced by Pilot Productions, the show returns for an incredible twelfth series and has now started to develop ideas for number thirteen. The show which focuses on destinations that are "off the beaten track", with a glance at more mainstream attractions, has had unprecedented success throughout the years keeping it in high demand amongst broadcasters.

Ian Wright in Las VegasGlobe Trekker (13 X 52’) is shot on location in some of the world’s most exotic surroundings, and combines stunning photography with an especially composed soundtrack leaving the viewer with a unique sense of spirit and adventure. Each of the episodes transports us to unforgettable destinations around the world, documenting the journeys of intrepid guides Ian Wright, Megan McCormick, and Zay Harding. Following their journey as they venture off to remote destinations, we encounter the inhabitants of the land, sample the cuisine, soak up the culture and revel in breath taking landscapes.

Destinations in series 12 include Sweden and Denmark, Crete and Cyprus, a Las Vegas City Guide, Panama and Columbia, plus a one-off special "Galleons, Pirates and Treasure".

Megan McCormick in Sweden & DenmarkThe series, also known as Pilot Guides, has been in continuous production since 1994, and is produced in association with American Public Television and WETA, Washington DC, in the United States; Travel Channel UK; Voyage France and Discovery Networks.

Attracting a global audience of 30 million viewers, the series has won over 30 international awards and continues to be the worlds most watched travel programme. It also airs on France 5, France; TVE, Spain, YLE, Finland; ABC, Australia; Outdoor Life Network, Canada; Denmark’s Radio Denmark and Asia TV, Hong Kong.
