Pilot Productions, the award winning UK based producer of travel and adventure programming will unveil the 14th series of Globe Trekker at this year's MIPCOM, it was announced today by Ian Cross, Managing Director.
"It's a testimony to the strength of the show that we’ve been able to produce an incredible fourteenth series in such a difficult trading environment," said Cross. "Pilot Productions has produced over 200 hours of the Globe Trekker series as a co-production with broadcasters around the world since the first series which aired as Lonely Planet on Channel 4 in 1994."
Globe Trekker (13 X 52’) is shot on location in some of the world’s most exotic surroundings, and combines stunning photography with an especially composed soundtrack leaving the viewer with a unique sense of spirit and adventure. Each of the episodes transports us to unforgettable destinations around the world, documenting the journeys of intrepid guides Megan McCormick, Zay Harding, Holly Morris and Adela Ucar Innerarity. Following their journey, we encounter the inhabitants of the land, sample the cuisine, soak up the culture and revel in breath taking landscapes.
Destinations in series 14 include The Holy Lands: 2 captivating shows exploring in the Middle East focusing on Israel and the Palestinian Territories. The series also explores Turkey, and uncovers the tale of T.E. Lawrence in Syria. Other episodes include Tibet, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea Islands, the South Atlantic and Antarctica.
