Pilot Productions has unveiled a mixture of travel and lifestyle productions and digital content for its 2008 MIP TV slate, Managing Director Ian Cross announced today.
 Globe Guide Destinations (13 x 30') is the first of a number of shows reformatted from Pilot's library to cater for a growing demand of presenterless programming. The series takes the viewer on an unforgettable journey across some of the world’s most exotic regions and will be available for delivery by July 2008. Destinations include South Africa, Rio de Janeiro, North India and Sydney.
Following from the success of the first two series, Globe Guides Series 3 (13 x 30') focuses on themed travel experiences including Hippy Traveller, Haunted Traveller, Artistic Traveller, and World Weddings. Compiled from the weird and wonderful encounters experienced by the Globe Trekker team this new series will be ready for delivery by spring 2009.
Pilot Productions is also positioning itself as a market leader in online and mobile content, and has reformatted its catalogue to suit this increasing demand.
Building on the success of Pilot’s web TV channel – www.GlobetrekkerChannel.tv - the Pilot team have compiled Pilot Shortform. This 4x 60' series consists of 2 to 3 minute segments sourced from the company's extensive library. With mobile deals already in place with the National Geographic channel, and Telenor in Scandinavia, this new format is sure to attract a wide number of sales on a growing number of platforms.
In addition to this, Pilot Productions is co-producing, with interactive Internet TV service Babelgum, Pilot Pocket Guides, an 18 x 10' series of presenterless destination webisodes of the world’s major cities. |
