Pilot Productions, the award-winning UK based producer of travel and adventure programming has struck a number of international deals for a range of its programs including Series 13 of Globe Trekker.
In Europe, TVE in Spain and France 5 in France have both snapped up series 12 and 13 of Globe Trekker, whilst Telefonica/ Imagineo in Spain has taken over 20 hours of the long running series. French cable rights for Globe Trekker series 1 to 6 have been re-licensed to Voyage which has also taken Best Treks. Puls TV in Poland has taken on series 1 and 2 of Pilot Globe Guides (26 x 26'), series 1 of Bazaar (13 x 26') and over 30 hours of Globe Trekker destinations.
In Asia, Thai PBS Public has just sealed a new 43 hour deal from both the Globe Trekker series and Globe Trekker Specials, whilst Metro TV in Indonesia acquired both series 1 and 2 of Pilot Globe Guides (26 x 30'), a guide to the planet's hot spots, plus tips on what's on in the world and when. The ever popular Planet Food series 1 (10 x 52') has been snapped up by iCable in Korea, whilst Nippon TV has taken the first episode of the newly produced series 3 (3 x 52').
In the Americas, the demand for travel programming keeps on strengthening as Canada's OLN has re-licensed Globe Trekker Specials (16 x 52'), along with Globe Guides series 1 and 2, and Mexico's KW Entertainment licenses a minimum of 50 hours of Globe Trekker. Crossing over to the Pacific, Australia's national broadcaster, ABC, has taken on-board series 13 of Globe Trekker.
