The Arcadia is a stylishly modern, clean hotel situated right
in the heart of Jakarta. It's rooms cost from $40 a night

There is only one place to stay if you're trekking on Handelum
Island and its very basic rooms are $8 a night. There are
only 6 (rather shabby) bedrooms and the walls are paper thin.
You feel really cut off here, but its isolation makes it special,
with deer grazing just outside your window and beautiful sunsets.
Moderate:
Lippo Carita Hotel

Sorake Beach Hotel
Jamborai Tel: 0639 211 95
This is a beautiful hotel, set in immense grounds by the beach.
Accomodation is in stylish wooden bungalows with veranda's
facing the grounds or the sea. The resort must have been beautiful
in its heyday but a drop in tourist numbers has meant it has
fallen into disrepair. About $20 a night. |
