Getting around Vienna
The public transport system in Vienna is outstanding. Trams,
buses and the underground (u-bahn) all contribute towards
making getting around the city very quick and easy indeed.
Visitors will notice the strange phenomenon of functioning
mobile phones on the underground! You can buy tickets that
are valid on all 3 for one day / one week / one month from
all underground stations and from shops displaying the sign
'Tabak'.
Possibly the most enjoyable way to get around town and the
surrounding countryside is by bicycle - there are cycle
lanes everywhere which rollerbladers take full advantage
of. There are miles and miles of cycle lanes, both in the
city centre and along the picturesque banks of the Danube.
Pedal Power will even come and deliver one of their many
different styles of bike to your hotel and come to collect
it when you've finished.
