Our Journey Path
Our journey begins at the Roman city of Ephesus. We
then travel to Fethiye where I board a yacht bound
for Olympos. From there we head for Safronbolu before
heading to Goreme, in the heart of Cappadoccia
and the more remote parts of Turkey. From Goreme it takes
around seven hours to travel to the mountain Nemrut Dag.
The last part of our journey leads back to the Black Sea
coast and the remote town of Artvin in the Kachkar
mountains.
On The Road
By Yacht
From Ephesus it's a seven hour bus journey to the south coast
and Fethiye, where you can charter a yacht to take you further
around the coast to Mount Olympos. It is cheaper to hire a
boat in Turkey than in any other European country on the Mediterranean
coast. The boats are called gulets and the thing to do is
charter one for a few days at a time and stop off at various
beaches and ruins along the way.
By Dolmus
The turkish minibus is called a dolmus which also means stuffed.
There is no set departure time and the driver leaves when
he thinks the bus is stuffed. Dolmuses travel between all
the major towns and villages on the Black Sea coast every
five minutes or so - journeys are cheap and you can hop on
and off at will.

In Istanbul
Travel around Istanbul by Tram, a great way to get around
the seven hills around the city.
Avoid taking a car to the Asian side of Istanbul, it can take
up to two hours in rush hour. Most people use ferries, they
are cheap, frequent and a relaxing way to travel.
Traffic is terrible in the city and accidents are frequent,
so travel by foot, sea, metro or dolmus is advised.
Travel to Gallipoli from Istanbul by bus. The Truva company
is the most reliable, and has the least amount of accidents!
How to Get There
Turkish Airlines operate quality flights from all
over the world into various airport in Turkey as well as internal
flights. |
