Georgia

One of the original 13 colonies, Georgia was established as a British colony in 1733 named for the then-King George II. One of the major economic hubs of the Southern United States, Georgia is also known for its vast geographical diversity. With the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountain Ranges both crossing through the state, Georgia is known for its mountainous terrain and forests. With a subtropical climate, it is a popular holiday destination, with places such as Jekyll Island drawing leisure-seeking visitors.
