| I like Justine. She's one of the more articulate presenters. However, her gradual weight gain and bad haircuts have made her look much older. |

And why would that a problem? Would that mean she is not one of the "most articulate presenters anymore? To the surprise of many in this forum, even the seemingly so popular Megan might one day have a bad hair cut or gain some weight and still be a good presenter. A lot of male travelers in this program are not handsome men but I do not see many people making references to their personal appearances when passing judgement about their performance as hosts.
Just something to think about before you post opinions about hosts, especially for women. As one of them, I think,we, women are doing tremendous harm to ourselves by supporting the stereotype of "you can't be the best at what you do unless you are a pretty girl" |

You raise some valid points Rosieny.
I guess the fact of the matter is that men and women do age differently.
And men and woman do ( generally ) have differing emotions and hang-ups about their outward appearance.
I am now fat and bald, but I still exhibit a certain maturity, which, if a woman ever bothered to look at me, would, I am sure, be evident.
In a few years, when my only remaining facial hair will be that which protrudes in elephant like tusks out of my nostrils, and my bloated and swinging belly rests on my knees, then I fully expect to be beating them all off with sticks, Megan included. I cannot wait.
What's this got to do with travel ?

What I like about Justine is that she speaks slowly and clearly. She also is honest about what is good and bad in where she travels. I also think she has a good sense of humor. Megan is also my favorite.
I think she looks pretty regardless of her weight and outfits. I'd rather watch her then someone who is dumb blond and anorexic not to mention plastic. I see enough of that in the media it's time we some real people who look human.
My response to the ignorant email is to look what's on the inside not on the surface. That's why I like the globetrekker hosts they are real. People we can relate to when we travel around the world. |

In retrospect, my comments were very stupid and I apologize If I offended anyone. We all get older and our bodies change and my comments were uncalled for.
I've followed Justine as a GT host since it was called Lonely Planet and I do like her and she does a good job for every country she's assigned. |

My thoughts about Justine are that she is a natural woman giving us her insight to the places she travels to. She has an unique point of view that I really like.
mamta_95037 summed up Justine well when she wrote "What I like about Justine is that she speaks slowly and clearly. She also is honest about what is good and bad in where she travels. I also think she has a good sense of humor.".
Justine's voice is so smooth and you can understand everything she is saying. She is calm and cool when she is talking to the viewer except when she is sinking in quick sand. lol |

I LOVE Justine. She is right up there with Ian in my book. Justine just seems like a natural- nothing forced or fake; like you would love to travel with her! She also has a great presenting voice.
I also think Holly Morris is great; also a natural in front of the camera like Justine, and its too bad that she doesn't get to do any Trekker segments. In my opin she would do a much better job than some that are on now. |

I do. I guess she's taken but I have often imagined that we would get along although I have no idea how she'd find me.
We'll just leave it as unrequited fan love.
Cheers,
John L
PS I was impressed at seeing her in Storyville. Took me awhile to figure out who this familiar voice, that smile and the way she moved was. |

| I like Justine. When I joined this forum, I was surprised to see how critical some people are of her and other hosts. One of the things I like most about this show is that the hosts seem like real people to me, not trying to sell anything, force their perspectives or pretend their perfect. If they fumble at times or happen to say something that not everyone will agree with, well then so be it. I think Justine is probably very true to herself. I get tired of people on tv saying what they think we want to hear. I am not offended by any of the hosts honest reactions to experiences in their travels. I'd be offended if they faked it. |

I'd trek with Justine anytime, anywhere. She's oh so feminine yet she isn't a girly-girl. By that I mean she's up for almost anything. I believe the only thing she refused to do was eat that deep fried rodent in So. America. Experiencing what the locals do is part and parcel to trekking. Justine jumps in with both feet. I like that.
She'd be fun to trek with, don't you think? |

| Exactly, I agree onefunzr! I've often thought that Justine would be the one presenter that I would love to travel with, even though I love Ian he's a lone wolf. Justine would be a gas! |

I thought her Eastern Carribean episode was amazing! She was so much fun and very natural. It was definitely one of her best episodes. Her dancing in a costume was just hilarious. |

| I'm not a Justine fan. BUT she has her moments in many different episodes, and many of the ones I've seen her host have been very good. I'll keep negative thoughts to myself, but her Paris and South Africa eps (especially the revised versions w/Adela and Sam, respectively), West Africa (I'm dying to go to Djenne!), Argentina, Ruta Maya and English history eps were all fairly strong and she is a valuable asset to the show. |

| I've just xeen the Turkey ep also, which was wonderful! Great mix of artistic/cuttural explanations, traveling around the country and the festivals she went to. And she's alot more informative than in some other eos. I confess, Justine's style is different, but she's growing on me and this ep really shows why. Too bad there was basically no mention of Turkish cuisine, which is just lovely. |

We love Justine!! She is our favourite. She is funny, articulate, open minded, and intellegent. She has inspired us to not only to travel the world but to not be afraid to experience the culture of the places we visit.
And she still shocks us with her ability to grasp so many differnet languages!! |

I've asked Justine this question and waiting to hear back. I think she's busy travelling and filming around Iran tho. Can't wait to see Global Moms tho - the YouTube clip looks fascinating:

Check out Justine's website for further updates www.promisesproject.org. Latest update on her web chat is this September. And, no sadly we don't expect Justine to do any more Globe Trekkers. She's now branched out as an independent film maker.

Justine is among my top favorites, along with Ian Wright and Megan McCormick. Sometimes though I think she can be a bit rude. Like when she was in Asia (forgot which country) she went to a knock off market, and said to one of the vendors, something like "So basically your selling me crap right?". She's also has no problem voicing her opinion on accommodation.
While I do admire her, and I think it's sad she left to pursue her own projects, I think she could have been a bit nicer, but for the most part she was. |

Wow! She's really gonna be missed!!!!
I have read up on her documentaries and watched reels, they see really great I tried getting a hold of a copy a couple of months ago but was unable to, I think maybe they hadn't been released in Canada yet. I'l check again though.
Good luck to her in her new endeavors! |

| I think she is head and shoulders over the rest. The reason? Justine does not make the show 'all about her', she makes her destinations and subject the focus of the show. She shows humility and a lot of respect for the people she meets and doesnt treat the world like a giant Disneland. |
