having just returned from a very memorable trip to Bangladesh i noticed that there doesn't seem to be a GT episode for this fascinating country. it got me wondering if there ever will be one and what other countries haven't yet been given the treatment.
are there new countries in the pipelines?
any other viewer recommendations?

Hey Johnny - Welcome back. Sounds like an interesting trip. No we haven't done Bangladesh yet and wouldn't rule it out. As for new countries in the pipeline, we've got this destinations lined up:

Antarctica
Holland
Israel & Palestinian Territories
Madrid City Guide
Barcelona City Guide
Nigeria
Papua New Guinea Islands
South East Australia 2
Syria
Tibet
Turkey 2
Ukraine & Belarus

Plus these shows with new footage:

Botanic Traveller
Crusaders Special
Good & Bad Drinking Guide
World War 2 Pacific

Would be interested to hear from anyone who's travelled to these places. I think you went to Syria a while back didn't you?

Wow, what a great response and thanks for whetting my appetite! Yeah Syria is great. Not sure how exactly but i've been there 3 times now including one spontaneous visa-less trip from turkey. Like many other travellers there it is one of my favourite countries. The people and sights are wonderful. Recommendations... Hama, Crak des chevaliers, Palmyra (duh!), Damascus, Deir ez zur, dura europas, dead cities, beehive huts, aphamea.

So a few countries are on 'part2' rounds now it seems, inc syria. good idea, especially as there are only so many countries and climes do change.

Can't wait to see how Antarctica is done.

Thanks again.

Cool - we've got most of those locations lined up for our shoot. We're also planning to film a couple of food shows: World Cafe Middle East and Planet Food. Syrian cuisine sounds totally amazing.

Antarctica thus far will involve an ice-breaker trip and possibly - depending on logistics - a yacht charter around the Antarctic Peninsula.

Would love to go to both these places! Tibet too sounds totally amazing.

Other suggested destinations yet to be visited (or not detailed enough) by GT:

1) Siberia and Far Eastern Russia
2) Central and Northern Japan (Kansai region, Shikoku, Northern Honshu, Hokkaido)
3) Southern and Central Brazil (Brasilia, Mato Grosso/Pantanal, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina and the south)
4) Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec, Maritime Provinces, Labrador) (maybe two programs, including a Montreal and Quebec City city guide)
5) City guides Moscow and St. Petersburg (one program for each)
6) Angola (if safe enough should be a fascinating place)
7) Saudi Arabia and Yemen (again if safe enough)
Cool Burma (controversial and not sure the government would allow filming there, but if possible there are positives about making a program there)
9) Northern and Central Poland and Kaliningrad
10) Albania, Macedonia, and Bulgaria
11) Croatia and Slovenia
12) The Guianas
13) Buenos Aires city guide
14) Uruguay and Paraguay
15) Silk Road special?
16++) China, Indonesia, and India could definitely use another program each, large regions in these countries have not been visited yet.
