Anyone here have an opinion on the re-design of the Zocalo plaza in Oaxaca City ? It was very controversial - and i am still not sure why it was undertaken.
We got a chance to see the finished results a few weeks ago. I agree with the critics - it's a travesty. They took a Unesco World Heritage site , and ruined it. It looks like any generic mcCorporate university mall.
Any opinions on this ?
(And, is this even appropriate for the forum ? Travel chat in general ? Not sure, i'm new here.) |

was there 7 years ago, have not heard this news, what a shame---but seems it happens (modernization/making "improvements" for the better) just about everywhere---another favorite place is taos, new mexico--- they now have a wal-mart and a gambling casino, just sad really  |
