Travelling to the historic capital of Catalonia, host Angela Mayuncovers a city with a proud culinary culture which sits as happily with its historical traditions as it does at the cutting edge of innovation and modern cuisine.
Angela explores the best of Barcelona’s food culture starting with a trip to the Boqueria Market, meeting expert foodie Joe Ray for a fascinating tour of this emblematic food heritage emporium. Journeying outside of the city, Angela travels to the Delta del Ebre to prepare Arroz Negre using the ink of freshly caught cuttlefish and locally grown rice.
Returning to the city, Angela meets Albert Adria for drinks and dinner at the uber trendy Inopiawhere she samples one of the most famous tapas in Inopia – the Croqueta Jamon Iberico. Journeying on, Angela visits chocolatier Enric Rovira to learn how to successfully construct an exquisite Gaudi-esque chocolate tower, she visits the culinary school of top city chef Jordi, and then travels on to the region of Rioja where we witness the famous wine festival where people get showered and drenched in wine.
