Background to the
course
Architect:
Karl Litten (who also designed Emirates Golf Club) designed
the original Dubai Creek which opened in 1993. The course
was re-designed in 2004 by European Golf Design in association
with Thomas Bjorn. There are big changes planned for
the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club in 2005, with the
addition of a large hotel necessitating the re-design
of some of the course.
Type:
Resort-style riverside course
Landscape:
Its rolling green fairways sit on the edge of Dubai
Creek, the saltwater inlet running like life blood through
the heart of the city, which comes into play on four
holes located alongside it. Numerous water features
and tropical palm foliage creates an atmosphere of seclusion
in the heart of Dubai. |
