Background to the
Course
Architect:
Designed to championship standards in association with
renowned modern architect Karl Litten.
Type:
Traditional links-style.
Landscape:
The course, which draws similarities with St. Andrews
in Scotland, is built around eight lakes with double
greens, deep pot bunkers and water hazards on both nines.
Course facts:
- It's the home of the $6 million richest horse race
in the world - the Dubai World Cup which is held annually
at the end of March.
- There are seven special races events during the year;
six for thoroughbreds and one for purebred Arabians.
- This oasis in the desert is a result of one million
liters of water per night hydrating the course after
play finishes. |

Playing the Course
This is the best option to play a round in Dubai during
the summer months. Possibly the biggest challenge playing
here, apart from the testing water hazards, is finding
your ball after you have hit it. Although following
the direction is not difficult with the powerful floodlights,
the distance it travels can be very deceptive. It's
a good idea to bring day-glo balls with you. |
