Chinatown Heritage
Centre
It may be strange to find Chinatown in a city
that is 70 percent Chinese, but Chinatown Singapore
is a place you have to see. Much like the rest of the
city, Chinatown here is a blend of the old and brand
spanking new. Pre-World War Two shop houses have been
restored and given a new lease of life as artists and
entrepreneurs set up shop in the heart of old Chinatown.
To get a taste of life in the past, check out the Chinatown
Heritage Centre. Located in three newly restored
shop houses along Pagoda Street, the Chinatown
Heritage Centre houses a wealth of memories and untold
stories from Singapore's past. Each level of the centre
takes you to a different time in the history of Chinatown
and allows you to trace the lives of the early settlers
here with true to life recreations.

Little India
Little India is perhaps one of Singapore's most authentic
attraction where visitors can really get a taste of
Indian culture on the island. Shops selling garlands
of fragrant prayer flowers, Indian jewelry and of course,
roti prata and curry stalls line the shophouses along
Serangoon Road and you can be forgiven if you
think you've left Singapore for Bombay. A couple of
traditional coffee shops selling naans and pan-fried
chapatis offer the perfect snack and artisans offer
henna tattoos at street corners. Die hard shoppers will
love Mustaffa Centre - a 24 hour shopping mall.
