One of the most iconic cities in history, Alexandria is known for its rich and extensive culture. Established over 2000 years ago in 332 BC by Alexander the Great, its namesake, the city became a major hub of Hellenistic civilization. Only Rome exceeded it in terms of International importance. In modern times, it is best known for its access to Egypt’s most iconic landmarks such as the Lighthouse of Alexandria and the Necropolis. It is also a major trading hub due to its access to the Red and Mediterranean Seas.
