Egypt’s capital city is one of the world’s most historically significant places. Nicknamed ‘the city of one thousand minarets’ due to its predominantly Islamic architecture, Cairo has been a major tourism destination for decades, mainly due to its close proximity to the ancient city of Memphis and most notably the Giza Pyramid Complex. With a history dating back to the 10th Century, Cairo is crammed with relics from throughout this period, making it one of the most beautiful and fascinating Arab cities in the world.
