Best known as home to the Grand Canyon, the United States’ supreme natural landmark, Arizona is a state dominated by a desert landscape but is far more beautiful and interesting than this implies. Home to a wealth of national parks and ski resorts, the state is also known for its major Native American population, who control a quarter of the state’s land. Its capital and largest city is Phoenix, which is known for its distinct architecture and major Latin American population.
