Pilot Productions, the award-winning UK based producer of travel, world cuisine and adventure programming today announces a raft of deals across their catalogue of lifestyle shows.
Following the announcement last week of a new distribution deal with IMG for its award-winningGlobe Trekker series, Pilot today announces a multi-series deal with Scripps Networks who will broadcast a range of Pilot programming as part of its Travel and Lifestyle network in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Included in this deal are a package of food productions such asWorld Café Middle East (5 x 52’), World Café Asia (21 x 26’), and Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia(5 x 26’), as well as golf travel and lifestyle show Adventure Golf (14 X 26’) and Pilot’s objects of desire show Bazaar (13 x 26’).
Furthermore, Pilot Productions’ Head of Sales – Eileen Pesah – is pleased to announce a wealth of other deals within its lifestyle range of programming: Metropolis, Pilot Globe Guides Series 2 and 3, World Café Asia, Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia and Adventure Golf are just the initial selection of a 60 hour VOD package in the first year of a 3 year deal with On Demand Management. Some of the range of deals closed in Asia include World Café Asia Series 2 and Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia with Mediacorps’ OKTO channel whilst in Hong Kong, TVB have taken the rights to Pilot Globe Guides Series 3, Planet Food Series 2 & 4, World Café Asia Series 2 and Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia. In the Philippines, Pilot Productions have secured a license forBazaar with the Lifestyle Network. DOVE Channel in Italy continues their success with the Pilot Globe Guides series by securing the rights to the second series alongside Pilot Pocket Guides. Polish network TVP have taken the rights to the global travel and shopping seriesBazaar as well as the colourful street market cookery show Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia. In the Middle East, Pilot/Tanweer have just announced the acquisition of World Café Asia Series 1, hosted by the Arabic-Asian roving chef presenter Bobby Chinn. “These deals reinforce the popularity of our shows and the beginning of a recovery in the TV programme acquisitions” said Eileen.
Alongside the lifestyle programming license deals, Globe Trekker continues to maintain its strong popularity with new licenses to On Demand, ERT (Greece), Tanweer (Middle East), Lifestyle Network (Philippines). Meanwhile in Australia, Pilot maintains its strong presence with an announcement that Ovation, Australia’s Arts and Entertainment channel, along with DV1, their DVD documentary label have signed a new DVD distribution deal across a range of Pilot series including Globe Trekker series 12, 13 and 14, Planet Food series 2, 3 and 4, Metropolis,Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia, and World Café Middle East. Included in this deal are the cable and satellite rights to Metropolis and Pilot Globe Guides episodes Artistic Traveller: Classicism, Artistic Traveller: Modernism and Great Palaces for the Ovation TV channel.
