Pilot Film and TelevisionProductions Ltd seeks to inspire and educate its audience by creating powerful television programming which takes pride in respecting and promoting social, environmental and personal change, whilst encouraging others to travel and discover the world and its history .

Pilot  is a leading international television production company with an outstanding reputation for producing and distributing factual programming. Since its inception in 1988, it has produced more than 1000 hours of multi-genre programming covering subjects as diverse as history, food, travel and sport. In that time Pilot has worked with most of the world’s broadcasters. It retains offices in London and Los Angeles.

Its award-winning and innovative Globe Trekker travel series was broadcast to over 30 million viewers in over 50 countries and ran to 248 episodes over a production period spanning 25 years from 1992 until 2017.

Pilot’s programmes have won more than 30 international awards, including 6 American Cable Ace awards.

Pilot’s programmes are also licenced to educational institutions globally. Music from its series are available on 12 CDs and for download on iTunes, Amazon Music and Spotify among others.

Pilot Productions was founded in 1988 by Ian Cross and Simon Nasht  who left the business in 1997.

In recent years Pilot  has focused on the production of history programs including its series, Empire Builders now in its  4th season.
