History

Tuscany, Florence and the Renaissance have long been linked to a succession of powerful Italian families but one more than  others has found its way into the history books.

Despite many of his works having been lost the few that survive  are some of the most influential paintings in Western art. 

Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect,and poet of the High Renaissance. Born in the Republic of Florence, his work was inspired by models from classical antiquity and had a lasting influence on Western art.
