The Looting of Afganistan
Organised looting of ancient treasures in the remote parts of Northern Afghanistan have been uncovered by archaeologists , according to the BBC.
The looting, which even involves the use of bulldozers , is situated in the ancient Silk Route region of Balkh in northern Afghanistan near the city of Mazar-I-Sharif . The region was home to the Achaemenid Empire conquered by Alexander the Great in the 4th Century BC.
