Australia’s Booming Foreign Born Population

Australia’s foreign born population grew to more than 30 per cent in 2024. It’s the highest percentage of foreign born in the country since the late 19th century.
Britain is still the largest source of migrants to to the country followed by India, China and New Zealand. The number of British born Increased for the first time in some years in 2024.
The biggest growth in recent years of foreign born has been from India and China, where the number of foreign born has doubled in the past ten years. Indian and Chinese born outside the country now make up five per cent of the population
