St Catherine’s Monastery , one of the world’s oldest and most isolated Christian monasteries , is located deep in the mountains of the Sinai Desert in Egypt, and is now at the heart of a cultural and diplomatic row as plans by the Egyptian Government to develop the area go ahead.
