Sulawesi produces cacao, coffee, cloves, and nickel which is major export .Fishing is vital industry due to Sulawesi’s extensive coastline.
And tourism to this off the beaten path destination is growing due to natural beauty, diving, and cultural attractions .
There are environmentsl concerns due to logging and nickel mining.
It can be prone to earthquakes and tsunamis due to its location on the seismically active Pacific Ring of Fire.
