Santa Ynez Valley, a burgeoning wine region in northern Santa Barbara County, California, is known for its scenic beauty and agricultural heritage. Old Spanish Missions
La Purisima Mission, near Lompoc – is one of 21 missions established by Spain in the second half of the 18th century to convert native tribes when California was part of New Spain. There is also a mission in the city of Santa Barbara and the The Mission of Santa Ines in Solvang. The missions were connected by a royal road linking Spanish settlements known as El Camino Royal
