Norton Simon Museum

Huntington Museum and Gardens

One of the original  robber barons, Huntingdon made his fortune on the railroads .Huntingdon’s artistic tastes housed in his museum here were  distinctly Victorian . A fantastic  walk in the grounds takes in a giant rose garden ,Chinese and Japanese gardens and displays of Australian eucalypts snd Californian desert cacti

Getty Villa 

Paul Getty made his fortune from oil . He modelled this villa on the Malibu coast as a smaller copy of a Roman villa uncovered near Pompei .  It houses  his collection of antiquities still here today
