Ingredients
- Equal amounts of the following spices:
- cassia (chinese cinnamon or ordinary cinnamon will do)
- whole cloves
- whole star anise
- fennel seeds
- sichuan pepper (quite different from ordinary pepper)
Method
- Grind equal measures of the above spices.
- Use to sprinkle into soups, stews, marinades and barbecue sauces.
- Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place.
